The Official Educational Portal of the Polish Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Therapy
In 2026, the Section of Ultrasonography and Echocardiography of the Polish Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Therapy launched the first national certification programme in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) for anaesthesiologists in Poland.
This initiative represents a major step towards the standardisation of ultrasound competencies and the promotion of evidence-based clinical practice.
The Section developed the first official national guidelines for ultrasound-guided central venous cannulation, based on the GRADE methodology.
These projects reflect our commitment to education, patient safety, and clinical leadership, while supporting the wider implementation of modern ultrasound techniques in anaesthesiology and intensive care.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Simon Althaus, DESAIC, creator of the innovative bronchoscopy training platform Smiloscopy, for his valuable contribution to the Polish National Village project at Euroanaesthesia 2026.
His pioneering work in simulation-based bronchoscopy education inspired the development of the bronchoscopy simulator presented at our booth. Throughout the project, Dr. Althaus provided continuous encouragement and support, helping transform an ambitious concept into a practical educational experience.
